The practice of giving lies right at the heart of the Christian message. What is undoubtedly the most famous verse in the Bible, John 3:16, tells us that God so loved the world that He gave His only Son. There are three primary ways that we can give back to God; our time, our talents and our treasures. Whilst all three are important, it’s often the last of these that we struggle with the most. 

 

Tithing (giving 10% of our gross income) is the primary way we give financially to God and something we encourage here at Lakeside. In Malachi 3, we are instructed to do this which is not only a loving and obedient response to God’s goodness and provision in our lives, but also a means of expressing our complete trust in His promise and ability to continue to meet our needs. In fact, it’s the only thing He encourages us to test Him with.
